(Priest and Priestess stand facing each other at Alter in the God and Goddess Position)
PRIESTESS: I invoke Thee; Father God, Consort of Mother Goddess. Father of us all, live now in the body of Your Priest.
(Priestess places arms folded on chest. Priest kneels in front of Priestess and gives fivefold kisses.)
PRIEST: Blessed Be thy feet that will walk the sacred path.
Blessed Be thy knees that shall kneel before Her.
Blessed Be thy loins that are the source of life.
(Priestess now assumes full Goddess position.
Blessed Be thy heart that rejoices in Her.
Blessed Be thy mouth that shall utter the sacred names.
I invoke Thee, Our Mother, Creatrix of us all. I invoke Thee
to descend upon the body of Your Priestess.
Now hear the words of the Great Mother, She who is also called Artemis, Astarte, Athena, Diana, Aphrodite, Cerridwen, Dana, Arianhrod, Bridgit, and by all Her thousands of names. Hear the words of the Star Goddess; She in the dust of whose feet are the hosts of the heavens and whose body encircles the universe.
(Priestess reads the Charge of the Goddess.)
PRIESTESS: Listen to the words of the Great Mother, She who of old has been called by many names.
Whenever you have need of anything, once in the month; and better it be when the moon is full, then shall ye assemble in some secret place to adore the Spirit of Me, who am Queen of all the Wise.
You shall be free from slavery and as a sign that ye be free, you shall sing, dance, feast, make music and love all in My praise.
For Mine is the ecstasy of the spirit, but Mine also is joy on Earth.
My law is love unto all beings.
Mine is the secret door that opens upon the land of youth, and Mine is the cup of the wine of life that is the Cauldron of Cerridwen, that is the Holy Grail of Immortality.
I give knowledge of the spirit eternal; and beyond death, I give peace, freedom, and reunion with those who have gone before.
Nor do I demand sacrifice; for behold, I am the Mother of all things and My love is poured out upon the Earth.
Now hear the words of the Star Goddess, the dust of whose feet are the Hosts of the Heavens, whose body encircles the universe:
I who am the beauty of the green Earth, and the white Moon among the stars, do call upon your souls.
Arise and come unto Me.
For I am the soul of Nature that gives life to the universe.
From Me all things proceed, and unto Me they must return.
Let My worship be in the heart that rejoices, for behold – all acts of love and pleasure are My rituals.
Let there be beauty and strength, power and compassion, honor and humility, mirth and reverence within you.
And you who seek to know Me, know that thy seeking and yearning will avail thee unless you know this mystery:
If that which you seek you find not within thee, you will never find it without, for behold – I have been with thee from the beginning and I am that which is attained at the end of desire.
TOGETHER: As it is above, it is below; so within and so without. Blessed Be!!
(Priest and Priestess may make love in honor of the God and Goddess if so chosen by group involved.)
(Complete any other business at hand.)
(Time for celebrations.)
(Close the Circle.)
Raymond Buckland also says in his book, “Don’t be surprised if the Goddess manifests herself and takes over your voice. You may suddenly find yourself saying words you hadn’t even thought about. Don’t be alarmed. This is the Goddess herself making her presence felt. Try to remember what it is that she says through you. If she does not come into you (it won’t always happen and for some people it never happens), simply say the written words and feel yourself blending with the Lady and speaking for Her.”
That’s all for now…Blessed Be!…Sheila
